Q: What typically fits in the Neverfull GM?
A: The GM is the largest Neverfull. With measurements of approximately 40 × 32 × 19 cm on this piece, it comfortably carries a 15-inch laptop, documents/A4 folder, large wallet, water bottle, a light jumper and daily essentials. Capacity depends on how you pack—please see Measurements on this page for exact dimensions.

Q: Is the GM size suitable as an airline carry-on?
A: Generally yes. Its soft, open-top tote construction and footprint are within many airlines’ cabin limits. However, carry-on rules vary by carrier and aircraft, so we recommend checking your airline’s current size allowance before you fly.

Q: Does this bag come with a removable pouch (pochette)?
A: Louis Vuitton added a removable zipped pouch to later “New Model” Neverfulls in the mid‑2010s. Earlier pieces may not include it. Please refer to the product information section on this page for exactly what is included with this item—if a pouch isn’t listed there, it is not included.

Q: Is the classic Neverfull GM reversible?
A: No. The standard Neverfull is not designed to be reversible. A specific “Inside Out” version exists that is reversible, but the classic Neverfull (like this Damier Ebene GM) should be used in its normal orientation to avoid stressing the trim and hardware.

Q: What does the date code FL4018 mean?
A: In Louis Vuitton’s 2007–2021 format, the letters indicate country and the numbers indicate week and year. “FL” denotes France; “4018” decodes to the 41st week of 2008. Note that date codes are not unique serial numbers, and from 2021 Louis Vuitton began phasing them out in favour of microchips—vintage pieces like this still carry a date code.

Q: What are the materials of this Damier Ebene Neverfull?
A: Damier Ebene coated canvas with dark brown cowhide-leather trim, gold-tone hardware and a red striped textile lining. The bag secures with a hook clasp and includes an interior zipped pocket.

Q: How should I care for coated canvas and the leather trim?
A: Wipe canvas with a soft, slightly damp light-coloured cloth and allow to air dry. Avoid soaps, solvents, alcohol-based products (including hand sanitiser), oils and perfumes. Keep the bag away from water, heat and long, direct sunlight. Do not overpack; store it loosely stuffed in a breathable dust bag when not in use.

Q: How do the side laces and closure work?
A: The Neverfull closes with a central hook clasp. The side laces let you cinch the bag for a slimmer silhouette or loosen them for maximum capacity; they do not create a full zip closure.

Q: Is it comfortable to carry on the shoulder?
A: Yes—this piece has an approximate 21 cm handle drop, designed to sit comfortably over the shoulder and under the arm, even with a light coat. For longevity, avoid overloading to reduce stress on the handles and glazing.
