A: The classic Alma PM is designed to be carried by hand or in the crook of the arm with its Toron handles (approx. 9 cm handle drop on this piece). It does not include a shoulder strap. Some Alma PM models allow a strap to attach to the handle mounts, and Bandoulière versions are sold with a strap.

Q: What are the advantages of Louis Vuitton’s Epi leather? A: Epi is deep-dyed, textured leather known for its structured shape, scratch resistance and colour stability. It is more weather-resistant than many smooth leathers and maintains a crisp silhouette with daily use.
Q: How should I care for vintage Epi leather? A: Wipe gently with a soft, light-coloured cloth. Avoid soaps, solvents, oils and alcohol-based products. Keep away from direct heat and prolonged sunlight, and store the bag loosely stuffed in its dust bag to help maintain its shape.
Q: Is this bag vintage, and what does the date code AR1906 mean? A: Yes. AR indicates manufacture in France. Using Louis Vuitton’s 1990–2006 format, the first and third digits denote the month and the second and fourth the year, so AR1906 corresponds to October 1996.
Q: Where is the date code typically found on an Alma PM? A: It is usually stamped on a small leather tab inside the interior flat pocket. On pieces with Alcantara lining, it can also be stamped directly on the lining near a seam and may fade with age.
