A: The case measures 31 mm, which wears compact and elegant on most women’s wrists and anyone who prefers a smaller chronograph. The integrated steel bracelet and refined lugs keep it comfortable for everyday use.

Q: Is the watch water‑resistant?
A: When new, Clipper quartz models were rated by Hermès to at least 5 bar (50 m). As this is a vintage piece, water resistance is not guaranteed and can diminish with age. We recommend avoiding contact with water unless the watch has been pressure‑tested after a service.

Q: What movement does it use and what battery will it need?
A: The CL1.310 uses a Swiss quartz chronograph movement. Hermès commonly fitted ETA quartz chronograph calibres in the Clipper range; these typically use a 394 / SR936W battery. Battery life is usually around 2–3 years, depending on chronograph use. A qualified watchmaker can confirm the exact cell and fit a fresh, sealed battery.

Q: How do I operate the chronograph?
A: Press the upper pusher to start and stop timing; press the lower pusher to reset the hands to zero once stopped. Avoid operating the pushers in wet conditions. Continuous timing will increase battery consumption, so stop the chronograph when not in use.

Q: What crystal does it have and how should I care for it?
A: The CL1.310 is fitted with a sapphire crystal, valued for its high scratch resistance. Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid hard knocks or abrasive surfaces.

Q: Will the bracelet fit my wrist and can it be resized?
A: This example is sized to fit a wrist up to 16.5 cm. The steel bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links. Extra links are not included with this piece, but a reputable watchmaker or specialist may be able to source compatible Hermès links.

Q: Does the date have a quick‑set and are there any precautions?
A: Yes, the date is quick‑set via the crown’s first position. As with most date mechanisms, it’s best to avoid changing the date when the hands indicate roughly 8 pm to 3 am to prevent strain on the calendar gears.

A: Time with central seconds, a chronograph for elapsed timing, and a date display at the dial. Sub‑dials show chronograph counters and running seconds, depending on the exact dial layout.
