Q: What typically fits in this Dior Cannage D Buckle Tote?
A: With approximate dimensions of 37 × 18 × 12.7 cm, it comfortably holds daily essentials such as a phone, long wallet, keys, sunglasses case, small cosmetics pouch, compact umbrella and a 500 ml water bottle laid horizontally. It may accommodate a slim tablet placed horizontally, but it is not designed for most laptops or A4 documents. Please refer to the Measurements on this page for exact sizing.

Q: Can it be worn on the shoulder?
A: Yes, it can be carried by hand, in the crook of the arm, or on the shoulder over light layers. The handle drop is approximately 18 cm, giving a close-to-body carry typical of east–west totes.

Q: What are the closure and pocket details?
A: The tote features a magnetic snap closure for quick access. Inside, there is a fabric-lined compartment with one zipped pocket for valuables, and there is an exterior slip pocket for items you need at hand.

Q: What is Cannage quilting and what is the leather like?
A: Cannage is Dior’s signature quilt pattern inspired by the canework of Napoleon III chairs. On this vintage tote it is rendered in supple quilted leather with silver-tone D-buckle details, giving a softly structured silhouette suitable for everyday use.

Q: How should I care for the Cannage quilted leather?
A: Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth and allow to dry naturally. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, heat and direct sunlight. With light colours like beige, be cautious of colour transfer from dark denim and freshly dyed fabrics. Store the bag stuffed to support the quilting and keep it in a breathable dust bag when not in use; avoid overfilling to prevent distortion of the quilting and seams.

A: On most Dior bags from the 2000s onwards, the date code is heat-stamped on the back of the interior leather tag (often inside or near a pocket).
