Q: What typically fits inside the Sac Plat?
A: With approximate measurements of 38 × 35 × 8 cm, it comfortably carries A4 documents, a large notebook or diary, an iPad/Tablet (including 12.9-inch iPad Pro), a long wallet, keys and small pouches. Because it is slim and structured, capacity depends on how you organise items—using flat pouches keeps the silhouette neat.

Q: Will it fit a laptop?
A: Yes, it fits most 13-inch laptops and many 14-inch models. Slim 15-inch devices may also fit, but please compare your device’s dimensions with the bag’s opening (about 35 cm wide) and use a protective sleeve to avoid contact with the vachetta leather. As it has an open top, take care when commuting.

Q: Does this model come with a shoulder strap?
A: This vintage, classic Sac Plat is designed for hand carry with dual rolled top handles and does not include a shoulder strap. Recent reissues in smaller sizes (Petit/Sac Plat BB) feature detachable straps, but this piece is the original handheld style.

Q: Is the bag open top or zipped, and how is the inside arranged?
A: It has an open top for quick access. The interior of this piece is in beige leather with one slip pocket, ideal for cards or a phone. We recommend using a pouch for small items so they don’t migrate in the tall compartment.

Q: How durable is Monogram coated canvas and how should I care for it?
A: Louis Vuitton’s coated canvas is hard-wearing and water‑resistant, making it excellent for daily use. Q: There is a slight vintage odour inside—can it be reduced safely?
A: Light storage odour is common in vintage bags. Air the bag in a cool, dry place out of direct sun, and place odour‑absorbing sachets (activated charcoal or baking soda) nearby or inside in a separate pouch—never in direct contact with leather. Avoid perfumes or harsh deodorisers; persistent odours are best addressed by a professional bag care service.

A: The classic Sac Plat typically has no metal feet. Thanks to its structured build it can stand upright when sensibly packed. To help it keep its shape, avoid overloading the top and store it lightly stuffed when not in use.

A: Many vintage Louis Vuitton bags carry a stamped date code that indicates factory and period of production; codes can fade with age or cleaning.
