A: Yes, this is the 16 mm adjustable shoulder strap in natural vachetta leather. This individual piece measures approximately 107 cm end to end. For reference, the official 16 mm strap adjusts roughly from about 100 cm to 118 cm, so this example sits within that range.

Q: Will it fit my Louis Vuitton bag?
A: It attaches via swivel clasps to bags that have side D-rings or hooks. Always check that your bag has attachment points; hand-held-only models without rings will not accept a strap. Many LV bags designed with rings can use a 16 mm strap, including popular styles from the Alma and Speedy Bandoulière families. If you are unsure, compare the clasp opening to your bag’s rings and contact us for guidance.

Q: Can I wear this strap crossbody?
A: With an end-to-end length of about 107 cm, most people will find it ideal for long-shoulder wear and a short crossbody, especially on more petite frames. Q: What is vachetta leather and will it darken?
A: Vachetta is an untreated, vegetable-tanned cowhide used by Louis Vuitton that naturally develops a honey patina over time. Exposure to light, moisture and oils will deepen the colour. This gentle ageing is a feature of vachetta rather than a defect.

Q: How should I care for this vachetta strap?
A: Keep it dry and avoid contact with water, oils, hand sanitisers and solvents. If it gets wet, blot immediately with a light, lint-free cloth and allow it to air dry away from heat and sunlight. Store it loosely coiled in a cool, dry place to prevent creasing.

Q: Does the hardware match classic LV bags?
A: The strap features gold-tone clasps that pair well with the gold-tone hardware on many classic LV styles. Do note that tone may vary slightly between production years and models.

Q: What is the difference between 12 mm and 16 mm LV straps?
