Q: Which movement does it use and what are the key specs?
A: The 79174 is powered by the Rolex calibre 2235, a COSC‑certified automatic movement with hacking seconds and a quickset date. It runs at 28,800 vph with an approximate 48‑hour power reserve and 31 jewels, renowned for accuracy and durability.

Q: What crystal does it have?
A: It features a scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with the signature Cyclops magnifier over the date for easy legibility.

Q: Is the fluted bezel solid white gold?
A: Yes. On this reference the fluted bezel is 18‑carat white gold, paired with a stainless steel case and bracelet (often referred to as “Rolesor” steel/white gold).

Q: How do I set the time and date safely?
A: Unscrew the crown to release it. Position 1 winds the watch; position 2 sets the date (quickset); position 3 sets the time. To avoid stressing the calendar mechanism, do not use the quickset date when the hands are between roughly 8 pm and 4 am; instead move the hands outside that window first. After setting, press the crown in and screw it down fully to restore water resistance.

Q: Is the diamond dial original to Rolex?
